Sunday July 28th- proud mama moment

At the end of church a member of our ward came up to me and was relaying something he witnessed in primary. Kira's class was being rowdy during sharing time and they were told multiple times to be quiet and to settle down. (Hearing this made me nervous that Kira did something wrong). After the class being told one more time to be quiet, Kira

Got up from her seat and sat on the end of the row by herself so she wouldn't be distracted. This member was very impressed that she did that so she could be taken out of the situation and be able to listen. Proud of my girl. Hearing things like this make me think I might be doing something right. :)

December 2011

Christmas 2012

Finally Im getting around to posting Christmas 2012.

We had a lot of fun. We spent Christmas in Juneau this year, it was the year for my side of the family but we couldn't come up with the money to go. It was a great year, the girls had tons of fun. Samantha was actually really into it, she was 2 by then so she kind of understood a little.. :) She liked the idea of getting toys. We talked about the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of Christ, but she didn't understand that as easily!

Kira's first braid

In November of 2012 Kira taught herself how to braid hair. She learned on one of her Barbie's. It was so cute to see her get so excited about it. I was super impressed... If only she would be so dedicated at riding her bike, or reading or tying her shoe.. but Ill take what I get.. Im a proud mama. Kira is a hard worker and wants everything to be perfect. :)

4th of July 2013

This year Sione's broker invited us to be part of the Flat Rate Realty float for the 4th of July parade. I was a little hesitant because I didn't want to be in the parade if it was raining and here in Juneau its rains almost every day. But we were lucky and blessed enough to not have rain during the parade or the whole day. The parade was fun, the kids were throwing most of the candy, so we ran out before the end of the parade. But they had a blast. Later that day we went to Douglas to watch the soapbox races, dog frisbee throwing contest and just be a part of the festivities. the day before the 4th we went to some activities fort he 4th and Samantha participated in a watermelon eating contest and then we all participated in a contest to find sand dollars. If you found a sand dollar with a number 1-10 on it then you got 5 dollars. pretty sweet. Kira found the number 10 sand dollar. She was so excited.

Duck Pond June 2013

There is this awesome duck pond here in Juneau, the girls love to go to. The ducks go crazy when we bring bread to feed them. We saw a mama duck and her ducklings this time.

Our Family Walk June 2013

We had a few great sunny days after we got home from vacation so we went on a few walks. It felt so awesome walking outside and feeling the sunshine.

Home School

So we have decided to homeschool Kira for kindergarten. Its going to be an adventure and Im still not sure If I'll be able to do it but im going to try it out this year and see if its something I can do in the future. Wish us luck!

Kira's Preschool Graduation May 2013

Kira graduated from preschool May 17, 2013, she did so well this year and is so excited for kindergarten. I cant find all the rest of the pictures from graduation, ill have to keep looking! :(

Samantha getting her adenoids taken out and tubes put in June 2013

The day we got back from our trip we had to take Samantha into the hospital to get her adenoids taken out and tubes put in. The surgery is pretty simple but its still scary for your child to go under. She did great before the surgery, the worst part was when she was starting to wake up from the anesthesia. She was so mad and just wanted the IV out of her hand. we finally got her to drink and she was able to get the IV out. she then fell asleep with me on the recovery bed.

We had a few more days left in California, We went to the beach, celebrated fathers day, my birthday and played games after games. Loved visiting my family, miss them so much cant wait till we go back.

More California Trip

After enjoying a few days in Norco visiting family and friends, we went to Mission Viejo and hung out with my sister and her family. It was so normal being back in Mission Viejo, didn't even feel like we left. The Friday we got there my sister, Cyndie, threw a welcome back party for some friends and family in MIssion viejo. It was so good to see friends again and catch up.

We were able to see Cole's piano recital and Vaughn's preschool graduation the weekend we were in MIssion Viejo. They did awesome and im so proud of them.

After the weekend we drove up to Utah to witness the setting apart of Lei and Lori, to be Mission President and Wife of the Tongan mission. What an amazing experience that was. They were set apart by Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the quorum of the twelve. What an spiritual giant he is.

We spent about a day with Sione's family before we headed back down to California. While in Utah we were able to see my two brothers Kent and Eric and his family that live in Orem, and my friend Tawny. It was good to see family and friends there too... On this trip we were able to see all of my siblings but 1. What a blessing that was for me and my family. on the drive back to California, we stopped to see my Brother Brad and his family in St. George. and Then my Brother Robert and his family in Victorville. What a road trip that was. it was fast and long but so glad we did it. The girls had a blast.

Redlands Temple June 2013- First time back since we have been married. 7 years ago. It was so wonderful going to the temple again. We dont have a temple in Juneau. Loved going with my parents.

The adventures of Lice. (Above picture) Found out we had lice, we had to spend a few days of the trip taking care of it and constant maintenance after that. NOT FUN!!
